iPhony 4: Did Steve Jobs Mislead the Public About Delaying Korean Launch?

At Friday's iPhone 4 presser, aka Antennagate, Steve Jobs was tasked with bringing Apple's credibility back up to snuff after angering customers over the phone's nagging reception issues. And just as many cell phone companies such as Nokia and Blackberry cried foul when Jobs unapologetically showed how their phones suffered from a similar "death grip," it seems there is someone else calling foul: South Korea.

What Will Apple Do Or Say At Tomorrow's iPhone 4 Briefing?

Apple's called a press event for a select group of reporters on Friday July 16th. The corporate line is simply that it's about iPhone 4. But in all likelihood it's related to the furor over the new phone's antenna problems.

Why Apple Hasn't Succeeded in China ... Yet

Apple isn't doing as well as it could in China. Why? The chairman of China's tech giant Lenovo thinks it's largely down to Steve Jobs himself, as the killer quote in the Financial Times article which is the source of this discussion reveals: "We are lucky that Steve Jobs has such a bad temper and doesn’t care about China. If Apple were to spend the same effort on the Chinese consumer as we do, we would be in trouble."

Apple Says iPhone 4 Reception Mystery Is Solved! AT&T's Signal Was Never Really There!

Never mind all of those quick fixes and videos about iPhone 4 reception dropping out when you hold the new phone a certain way. Never mind the fake Steve Jobs letters telling a customer to relax (or not). In a newly released letter to customers, Apple -- the real Apple -- says it's figured out why some iPhone 4 users are experiencing lower bars in their reception when the phone is held a certain way....

The iPhone 4 vs. the EVO 4G. It’s the battle of our time. Or, at least, it was until Verizon unveiled the Droid X, thus continuing the cycle of Android phones one-upping one another from week to week. But regardless, iPhone 4 vs. EVO 4G is an interesting battle — at least among fanboys of the iPhone and Android platforms. And now there’s a great video to personify it.

Amazon's Kindle App for iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch Gets Embeddable Audio and Video

Amazon doesn't really care if the Kindle hardware dies. They'd rather it didn't, of course, but Kindle is much more than a couple of e-ink ebook readers. Kindle is much more important (and more profitable) as a store, available from tons of different devices--so just because its Kindle 2 and Kindle DX can't handle audio or video (or, um, color), that doesn't mean Amazon can't keep pushing the medium forward.

Is the iPhone 4's Reception-Killing Antenna a Deal-Breaker?

The new iPhone 4 hit the stores and streets today. With a gadget this popular (and there aren't many), every tiny flaw gets blown up to apocalyptic proportion. Most of those issues turn out to be only a minor issue, either fixed in the next round of manufacturing or forgotten about in a few weeks.

Steve Jobs Responds To The Antenna Issue: Hold It Different Or Use A Case

By now you’ve heard about the antenna issues some people are having with the new iPhone 4. Basically, it seems like wireless signal strength degrades if you hold the lower left corner on some, but not all devices. This has been shown on video and there are many reports out there about this issue — something that is particularly troublesome for left-handed people. I’m sure a lot of people have asked Apple about the issue — I have too.
